Kettering Bariatrics was founded in 2004 when Dr. David L. Schumacher returned to his hometown of Dayton to serve patients throughout the Miami Valley. In association with Weight Loss Surgery at Kettering and Sycamore, Dr. Schumacher treats patients in the region's most advanced specialized facilities. Pre-surgery preparation and post-surgery recovery support are provided to help every patient enjoy the best possible outcome, including lasting weight loss and long-term better health. 

In addition to Dr. Schumacher, the Kettering Bariatrics team encompasses several weight loss specialists, including nutritionists, exercise and activity advisors, lifestyle counselors, psychologists, nurses, physician's assistants, and many more, both within our practice and through partnership with Weight Loss Surgery at Kettering and Sycamore.
